In a good honey flow unused Nuc boxes can be used as Honey Supers,

 4 Drawn combs or 5 foundation John Pluta

This is how I use my extra Nuc boxes in summer high volume Cotton Honey

 flows to get extra comb drawn for my spring NUC business.
