13 Bee Hive Top yield 10 ten frame and 3 eight frame Finished top both sides leaning up, painted on far left. Cuts to be safe try and get same saw operator if possible each time 20 1/8 to 1/4 three times for length pieces balance is 4 pieces cut sideways.
I never cut regular sideways against the grain,warping problems but since this is pressed have had no problems.

MY FIRST cuts after Lowe's is 7 inches from grooved female side then 16 1/2 twice with a 7 inch male piece glued into first for a 8 frame top. I have stopped making 5 frame nuc boxes only 8 frame now and 8 frame pollination equipment start up. The finished top hole is feeder.

The ONLY scrap is 1 1/2 inch from sideways cut $25 sheet gives 13 $2 tops,

TIP You need a sharpie marker It's so dense won't take pen pencil marks,

I do 25 at a time, these have been copper dipped and hand holds beveled up 15%

for better grip with saw at top.

All boxes are also dated with magic marker that lasts 15 years, I know age of all frames,boxes,tops

After 3 coats of exterior latex paint boxes are aged for a month to dry good.
