CALIFORNIA Honey Bee Die off continues in Almond Groves 30% CCD Colony Collapse Disorder
Jerry Hayes, Assistant Chief, Bureau of Plant and Apiary
Inspection,
Division of Plant Industry, Florida Department of
Agriculture, Gainesville, Florida:
This is the time of year when almond bloom is about to take place and
hundreds of thousands of colonies are brought in to pollinate that
crop. The reports that I have gotten from beekeepers is that about 30%
of the healthy colonies that have gone to California - for this 2010
almond pollination to fulfill pollination contracts - have died in two
or three weeks.

FEEDING TIME Fall Honey flow was weak so it's time to fatten the Honey Bee's up for winter ALWAYS start early to make beehives heavy if not leaving honey. The extra stores also act as insulation and are ready for spring build up time.
FEEDING TIME Fall Honey flow was weak so it's time to fatten the Bee's up for winter
This Video will give a few idea's for sugar water mixing on hobbyist size scale
DON'T let your bees starve, FEED BEFORE cold weather comes
The bees won't break the cluster if extreme cold so feed now.
Extra feed acts as insulation to preserve hive warmth.
