HONEY as alternative medicine for cancer, medical problems

Dr. Jack Tidwell discusses honey therapy for cancer patients

The Tidwell Cancer Treatment Center is known for being on the cutting edge of technology when it comes to combating cancer.
Trained at the renowned M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, Dr. Jack Tidwell was the first physician in the region to offer dynamic arc-modulated radiation therapy that allows him to maximize the treatment of cancer while minimizing the effect on surrounding tissue and organs.

But Dr. Tidwell is also open to other ideas in researching ways fight cancer. One such treatment, according to his wife, Eve, is the use of honey to attack cancer cells.

Dr. Tidwell and Eve will talk about this at the Nov. 9 meeting of the Chattahoochee Valley Beekeepers Association.

Dr. Tidwell has been practicing medicine for 25 years, training under Dr. Gilbert Fletcher, the Father of Radiology.
He graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelors of science in Mathematics and Chemistry. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and interned at Fitzimmons General Hospital in Denver.
